Draft follow-up emails

Updated by Rory

Curvo writes a follow-up email draft from your meeting, you edit it, and you send it from your own mail app. Curvo never sends the email for you.

Open a draft from a meeting

  1. Open a meeting that has finished processing.

  2. Select Draft Email at the right of the tab row. The meeting summary has a Draft email button too.

The button is inactive until the meeting has a summary. If Curvo could not write the draft, select Try again.

What Curvo uses

Curvo writes the draft from:

  • The meeting transcript, or the summary if there is no transcript

  • The meeting's date and times

  • Your name

  • The name of an external participant

  • The company name from the deal or the meeting

To starts with the external participants who have an email address. Curvo is told to use only facts from the meeting. Check names, numbers and commitments before you send.

Edit the draft

Select the subject or body to edit it. Curvo saves your changes as you go, and your edits apply to your copy only. You can also change recipients, add Cc and Bcc, or use Copy to copy the body.

If Curvo could not find a name, it leaves a placeholder such as [[recipientName]]. Replace it before you continue. If you forget, Curvo asks you to review placeholders first.

Re-write the draft

Select Re-write, then choose one:

Option

What it does

From scratch

Writes a new draft using your current saved preferences.

Shorter, Friendlier, More formal, More detail

Refines the current draft.

Or tell it what to change…

Follows your own instruction, up to 160 characters. You can speak it if your browser supports voice input.

To change one passage, select up to 700 characters of the body, then choose Re-write, Detail, Shorten, Friendly, Formal, Next step or Custom. Delete removes the selected text.

After a change, Undo appears briefly.

Move the email to your mail app

The main button depends on your connection. Connect Google Calendar or Outlook under Calendar Sync in your settings.

Button

What happens

What you need

Open in Gmail

Opens a new Gmail compose window with the email filled in. Nothing is saved in Gmail until you act there.

Google connected

Open in Outlook

Opens a new Outlook compose window on the web with the email filled in.

Outlook connected

Create draft in Outlook

Saves the email to your Outlook drafts. Selecting it again updates that draft.

Outlook connected, with mail permission

Send email

Opens your computer's default mail app with the email filled in. It does not send anything.

No connection

If you can create Outlook drafts, use the arrow beside the button to switch between opening and creating a draft. Curvo remembers your choice. Curvo cannot save drafts into Gmail.

If you see Additional permission required, select Reconnect Outlook to allow draft creation.

When an email is too long to pass across, Curvo copies the body to your clipboard so you can paste it in.

Draft an email from a deal

On a deal, the draft starts from an action, so there is no Draft Email button.

  1. Open the deal's Overview tab.

  2. Under Next best actions, select an open action that involves an email. The first few can also appear as buttons under the deal summary.

  3. Edit the To, Subject and Body in the Email draft panel.

  4. Select Open in Gmail or Save draft. Save draft saves to your Outlook drafts. If you have both connected, choose under Open or save with.

Curvo writes it from the action and the deal's two most recent completed meetings. You need Google or Outlook connected. This panel has no Re-write menu or Cc and Bcc fields, and Curvo does not keep the draft after you close it, so finish it before you leave. For more on deal pages, see Deals.

Change how Curvo writes your drafts

Your prompt applies only to your own newly generated meeting and deal emails. Existing drafts stay as they are. To apply a saved prompt to a meeting draft, select Re-write, then From scratch.

  1. Select your name at the bottom of the left sidebar, then Settings.

  2. Under Your account, select Email Drafts.

  3. Describe what you want under Generate with AI and select Generate, or edit the Prompt template yourself.

  4. Review the template and select Save.

Reset to default returns to Curvo's recommended prompt. Leaving the template blank does the same.

A template can be up to 10,000 characters. It must include {meetingTranscript} and can use only these placeholders:

  • {meetingTranscript}: meeting transcript or recent context

  • {sellerName}: your name or company

  • {prospectName}: prospect or customer name

  • {companyName}: prospect company or account

  • {actionName}: next step or deal action, in deal emails only

  • {emailType} and {tone}: currently left blank, so write the email type and tone into your template in plain words
