Prepare for a meeting

Updated by Rory

Every upcoming meeting has a preparation page in Curvo. For customer meetings, Curvo also writes a brief and can send it to you by email or Slack shortly before the call.

Open the preparation page

  1. Go to Meetings, then Upcoming.

  2. Select the meeting's row, away from its title.

You can also follow View full brief in Curvo in a brief email, or View meeting in Curvo in a Slack brief. Both open the Brief tab.

What is on the page

Tab

What it shows

Overview

The participants, meeting history, insights and company information together. Within 24 hours of the start it also shows Starting Soon with the join link.

Participants

Who is invited, under All, Internal and External.

Company

Information about the company on the linked deal. With no linked deal, it asks you to link one.

Meeting Notes

Insights from earlier meetings with this company. They appear after your first meeting with the company is completed.

Previous Meetings

Earlier meetings related to this one.

Brief

The brief for this meeting.

The panel at the top shows the notetaker's status for this meeting, such as Joins 3 min before start. Only the meeting's organiser can change it.

What a brief contains

Curvo uses one layout for a first call and another once there is history. A section appears only when Curvo has something for it.

Call

Sections

First call

Meeting, Deal and First call. If Curvo has researched the company: About the company, Key insights (Sector), In the news and Risks & considerations. If not: Likely purpose, Risks and Talking points. Then Participants.

Later calls

Meeting, Deal, Likely purpose, Where we are, Top Risks, What to do next, Key MEDDPICC questions to fill gaps, Participants, Open actions, In the news and Buyer research.

An email brief can also show a MEDDPICC score.

Available on selected workspaces: the Brief tab also lists Discovery questions picked for this call. You can remove one, or use Add a question, until recording starts.

When a brief is ready

Curvo starts writing the brief in the hour before the meeting. Until it finishes, the Brief tab shows Brief is being prepared, with Refresh. If you see Brief unavailable or Brief failed, use the other tabs to prepare.

By default, Curvo sends the brief from 15 minutes before the start, once it is ready. If it is not ready when the meeting starts, Curvo does not send it, though you can still read it on the page if it finishes.

Who gets a brief

Curvo sends it to the people in your workspace the meeting belongs to, on any seat type. Each person's settings apply separately. Anyone else who can see the meeting can read the brief on the Brief tab.

Turn briefs on or off

  1. Select your name at the bottom of the left sidebar, then Settings.

  2. Under Your account, select Notifications.

  3. Use the Pre-meeting brief switch in the Email section, the Slack section, or both.

Both are on unless you turn them off. The switches change delivery only, so the brief stays on the preparation page.

  • Unsubscribe in the Email section stops all Curvo emails, including briefs.

  • The Slack section appears on selected workspaces. If it shows Not connected, an Owner needs to connect Slack in company settings.

  • Quiet hours apply to Slack only. A Slack brief due in your quiet hours is not sent later. The email still goes out if it is on.

For the other messages Curvo sends, see Notifications and what Curvo sends you.

What a brief depends on

A meeting gets a brief when all of these are true:

  • It is scheduled, with a start time.

  • It is linked to a deal, or has a participant with a work email outside your company. Personal addresses do not count, so an internal meeting with no deal gets no brief.

  • Your workspace is active.

The brief does not depend on the notetaker. A meeting set to Off can still have one.
